Letting or Leasing Out a Company Title Unit

If you are a buyer who intends to let out a Company Title home unit, you should check with your solicitor whether the particular company allows letting or leasing.

The company can refuse to allow an owner to lease a unit at its own discretion, and most companies have rules and regulations relating to renting out.

If the company allows letting, each prospective tenant is required to produce at least two references and must usually attend an interview.

On occasions, Company Title Boards will refuse to allow a tenant to occupy a unit if they are not satisfied that the tenant is a fit and proper person to live in the place, or if the tenant intends to allow other people to live in the unit without company approval.

If a company refuses a tenant, it is up to the owner to resolve the issue. The company will not become involved with discussing the matter with the tenant.
